CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS AND NON-DEGREE SEEKING STUDENTS
Certificate Programs The School has Certificate Programs in Hotel/Lodging Management, Restaurant/Foodservice Management, and Travel and Tourism Management. Each program consists of 12 courses (36 credit hours) and has a core requirement and electives to meet the specific needs of each candidate. The programs are open to all students with a high school education and experience in the industry. The international student candidate must submit a minimum score of 500 on the TOEFL exam and a Declaration and Certification of Finances document. One semester (15 credits) certificates in Hospitality Administration and Travel and Tourism Administration are also available.
Graduate Certificate Programs are also available. Graduate certificate programs consist of eighteen (18) credits. Students are required to fulfill all admission requirements for the University Graduate School as well as for the Master of Science degree programs in Hospitality Management and Tourism Studies.
Restaurant / Foodservice Management Certificate - 36 credit hours Note: Curriculum may be adjusted to meet the needs of students with extensive related industry experience.

Hospitality Studies Certificate - 15 credit hours
This certificate is designed to provide students maximum flexibility in choosing courses that reflect their needs and interests. Students select 15 credits in hospitality and tourism management courses to create their own certificate according to their particular interests.
Graduate Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management - 18 graduate credit hours This program will consist of eighteen (18) credits of graduate level course work in Hospitality Management, Tourism Studies or a combination of both and will be designed by the student with close supervision by the School’s graduate advisor. This program is primarily designed for students who are intent upon improving their academic credentials for teaching at an accredited community college level academic program.

Non-Degree Seeking Students Individuals currently employed in the hospitality or tourism field, who do not have the educational requirements to meet degree admission standards, may be interested in enrolling in certain specific courses to improve their skills and to enhance their chances for promotion. Any person currently employed in the field may register as a Non-Degree Seeking Student for a maximum of 15 undergraduate or 12 graduate semester hours.
