
The Mel Chasen Rewards Network Scholarships
This scholarship will be awarded to students who meet all of the following criteria:
Full-time students in good standing in their senior year enrolled in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Florida International University who are seeking an undergraduate degree in the field of hospitality management with a focus on food and beverage management.
Students with a Grade point average of 3.0 or better (on an A = 4.0 scale) at Florida International University .
Applicants must submit the following:
- a letter of recommendation from a faculty member of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management;
- a current résumé;
- an essay (no longer than two pages, typed) on why the applicant is choosing Food and Beverage Management as a career.
Selection and Awards Procedures:
Advertising of the Mel Chasen Rewards Network Scholarships and the selection of recipients will be made in accordance with standard procedures of Florida International University and the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
Recipients will be chosen principally on the basis of academic performance or potential, involvement in school and/or community activities and previous relevant work experience.
A total of five (5) Mel Chasen Rewards Network Scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded per calendar year for a period of five years, as follows:

Two (2) scholarships in the Spring semester

One (1) scholarship in the Summer semester

Two (2) scholarships in the Fall semester.
