Born and raised in South Florida, Mychal Milian began his hospitality journey with Economos Properties, marking his initiation into the hotel sector in 2010. As his career progressed, Mychal once again collaborated with Economos Properties, this time rejoining as the Pre-Opening General Manager and Director of Operations for the Marriott and the AC Hotel Fort Lauderdale Airport. This role further underscored his proficiency in the intricacies of hotel pre-openings and operational leadership. His robust academic foundation, with a Master's degree in Hospitality Management and a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Tourism from Florida International University, has fortified his ability to navigate and lead in the complex and ever-evolving world of hospitality. Throughout his illustrious career, Mychal has collaborated with esteemed brands such as Marriott & AC by Marriott, COMO Hotels and Resorts, HEI Hotels, Standard International, SBE, Highgate Hotels, and MEI Hotels. His commitment to excellence has been recognized by prestigious accolades like the Visit Lauderdale Laudables Rising Star and AC Hotels Opening of the Year. Additionally, as an adjunct professor at Florida International University, Mychal takes pride in shaping the future leaders of the hospitality industry. His dedication to imparting knowledge underscores his commitment to the continual growth and innovation of the sector. His leadership extends beyond operations as he sits on the board for the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association and Marriott's South Florida Business Council, further establishing his role as a pivotal thought leader in the industry. With a passion for crafting memorable experiences for guests from all walks of life, Mychal continuously seeks opportunities to connect, collaborate, and contribute further to the hospitality realm.

As a dedicated alumnus with a Master's and Bachelor's degree from the FIU Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, I am deeply invested in the growth and success of the school. My journey in hospitality started here, and the robust academic foundation I received has significantly shaped my career. Serving on the Alumni Network allows me to give back by connecting with new generations of students, encouraging them, and providing mentorship. Moreover, being an instructor at FIU, I appreciate the academic environment and its pivotal role in shaping the future leaders of the hospitality industry. I would be thrilled to further contribute to a place that has given me so much, both professionally and personally.
