Explore your three options for education abroad at FIU

  • Faculty Led Programs

FIU Faculty-Led Education Abroad programs provide our students with the opportunity to participate in short term programs abroad with other FIU students led by an FIU faculty member. As a participant in the program, you enroll at FIU and attend classes abroad with an FIU professor and FIU students. See your options in the Available Programs section.

  • International Student Exchange

Through the International Student Exchange (ISE) program, you can attend any one of our partner schools throughout the world. The ISE offers you true immersion since you’ll be living and studying in your host country for the Fall or Spring semester, or both! You pay your FIU tuition for ISE, which means any scholarships or financial aid that you receive can go towards your study abroad experience. Current partnerships for hospitality management students include opportunities in Asia, Australia, Europe, and South America—learn more about our partners.

Find details and deadlines on the Education Abroad ISE website.

  • Third Party Programs

Students can choose to participate in a non-FIU or outside study abroad program. These third-party programs are not offered by FIU. It could mean directly enrolling in a foreign institution, participating in a program through a different U.S. university, or participating in a program with a study abroad provider. If you are interested in participating in a third-party program, you must apply through the Office of Education Abroad to have your program reviewed for approval to accept/apply your credits at FIU. Learn more about third-party programs on the FIU study abroad website.
