Jose A. Hernandez-Solaun is President of The Easton Group, a real estate brokerage, management, and development firm. He oversees the company which manages, leases, develops or owns more than 4.5 million square feet of commercial real estate. He is also the founder of Merrick Capital Partners, a commercial real estate capital markets company. MCP, mission is to guide clients through the entire business cycle from equity to debt. Prior to these roles, he was a Senior Vice President at GE Capital, a division of General Electric (GE). Jose has served as an Adjunct Professor of Finance at the University of Miami for four years.
He is a serial social entrepreneur, whose work has led him to Co-Founding LEAD305, L.I.V.E. (Lead, Innovate, Volunteer, Empower) with a mission to impact and improve the quality of life of those suffering from life-threatening medical conditions, including preventive health, with a special emphasis on diabetes through the organization’s leadership as volunteers, educators, and innovators. Additionally, Jose founded the Hernandez-Solaun Foundation, which educates young adults on the basics of personal finance, credit and business fundamentals (entrepreneurship).
Jose holds a BA in Entrepreneurship, Marketing and International Business from Florida International University. He received his MBA, in 2005, from the University of Miami. In December 2009, he earned an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
