Bio

Dr. Fang Shu is an Assistant Professor at Florida International University. As a notable global learning faculty member recognized by FIU Global, Dr. Shu teaches accounting and finance courses (e.g. HFT 2401, HFT 4464, HFT 4474) at the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management and various interdisciplinary courses (e.g. philanthropy, leadership, culture) at the Honors College. He has developed and led the Honors China Program and Hospitality in Japan Program. In addition, he serves as the Paper Review Chair of the 29th Annual Graduate Education and Graduate Student Research Conference in Hospitality and Tourism and the Marketing Director of SECSA-CHRIE.

Prior to teaching full-time in 2016, Dr. Shu had served as FIU's China Programs Manager for five years. His duties entailed oversight of all activities of the school's admissions and career development team in China, including the recruitment, enrollment, event planning, and eventual job-placement of Chinese students at FIU’s degree-granting campus in Miami. Throughout his career, he has served on a number of boards and committees, including the Asia Committee at the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC).

Dr. Shu's research interests include economic impact, ESG, philanthropy, and corporate social responsibility in the hospitality and tourism industry. He strives to use his expertise and resources to fix social issues and make the world a better place.
