Global Chief Human Resources Officer (GCHRO) of Carnival Corporation & PLC

Bettina A. Deynes is the Global Chief Human Resources Officer (GCHRO) of Carnival Corporation & plc, one of the world’s largest leisure travel companies, overseeing a workforce of more than 160,000 employees from 150 countries. She brings a background of strong business leadership and strategic planning to Carnival. As Global GCHRO, she oversees all nine brands’ HR functions and is ultimately responsible for attracting, retaining, and rewarding talent; leading more collaborative approaches with the operating companies to optimize HR as well as enhancing the company’s culture and leading the organization’s Wellbeing, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts. Under her leadership, Carnival has been named as one of the World’s Best Employers by Forbes as well as Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work.

Prior to her current role as GCHRO, Bettina A. Deynes served in multiple leadership roles including as the CHRO for Carnival Cruise Line (CCL) overseeing shoreside and shipboard Human Resources functions. With an extensive HR background, she provided key support to the organization during a time of unprecedented organizational challenges and brings this experience and momentum to the corporate role. Prior to CCL, Bettina A. Deynes served as CHRO and Strategy Officer for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM); while also serving as a voting member of the United States delegation for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for the development of international HR Standards. Earlier in her career, she was Vice President, Human Resources for the Washington Nationals Baseball Club and CHRO for the City of Alexandria, VA.

Bettina A. Deynes serves as an advisory board member for HR Innovators as well as FIU’s Hospitality School. In 2022, she was awarded with the National’s Women’s Conference Top 100 Women in Business. She has been featured in numerous publications and is a frequent author and speaker on HR issues and Diversity and Inclusion topics.
