Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos

Bio

Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos is the Co-Founder, President, and COO of Flag Luxury Group, a privately held real estate development company with a focus on luxury hotels, condominiums, retail, and land-based entertainment. Headquartered in New York, Flag Luxury has developed over $6 Billion worth of assets in gateway cities such as Miami, Orlando, Las Vegas, and New York.

Dayssi oversees many aspects of the firm including site selection, construction, programming, architectural and interior design, asset management, and branding/licensing. Dayssi most recently completed the development of the 250-key Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad and is currently redeveloping The Ritz-Carlton Residences, South Beach, a private collection of 30 oceanfront condominiums. Under Dayssi’s leadership, Flag Luxury is revitalizing Lincoln Road in Miami, addressing the need for community preservation and functionality.

Prior to Flag Luxury, Dayssi completed a Masters in Real Estate Development and Finance from New York University after working in New York as a commercial real estate financial analyst and broker. Dayssi holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University. Her dedication to her alma mater extends beyond her academic achievements, as she has served on the Board of The Hotel School and is a valued member of the President's Council of Cornell Women and the Trustee Council of the University.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dayssi is the co-founder of Women's Power Series, an initiative to celebrate women in business. Together with her daughter Sophia, she has created a platform to empower and inspire women from all walks of life. She is the Founder of The Friends of New Yorkers for Children, an organization that supports children in foster care through education, mentoring, and career opportunities. Dayssi also serves on the Board of Save Venice, the largest privately-funded foundation dedicated to the restoration of art and architecture in Venice.
