Application Process

Domestic Student Application Process:

  1. Online Application
  2. $30 Application Fee
  3. Official College/University Transcripts
  4. A minimum 3.00 grade point average (GPA) in a completed undergraduate degree program
    a. Students with a GPA below 3.0 may be required to submit GRE or GMAT scores

Student with Foreign Credential Application Process:

  1. Online Application
  2. $30 Application Fee
  3. Official English Proficiency Scores
    a. We accept TOEFL, IELTS & Duolingo
    b. Please see further instructions and the list of exempt countries below
  4. Translations of Foreign Transcripts
    a. If transcripts are not available in English, translations will be required
  5. Course-by-course evaluation with GPA calculation
    a. NACES member credential evaluation service
    b. A minimum 3.00 grade point average (GPA) in a completed undergraduate degree program
    c. Students with a GPA below 3.0 may be required to submit GRE or GMAT scores
  6. Proof of Degree

English Language Proficiency Requirements

Applicants from non-English speaking countries, including internationally educated American students, must demonstrate proficiency in English. FIU only accepts test scores sent directly from the testing agency as official.

 

Exam Score Requirements:

  • Duolingo: 110
  • TOEFL iBT: 80
  • TOEFL PBT: 550
  • IELTS: 6.5

Additional English Proficiency Options:

  • FIU’s English Language Institute Level SixSuccessful completion with passing grades for all content areas
  • Applicants from institutions with regional accreditation or other English-speaking countries who hold an undergraduate or graduate degree.
