Wynwood: A New Way and Place to Study and Learn

FIU Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management is always offering new ways to help working professionals elevate their career. Designed for and with full-time professionals in mind, welcome to the Mixed Mode MS in Hospitality Management at Wynwood. This is the perfect way for someone who is trying to further his or her education with a master’s degree, to work at the same time.  

The Mixed Mode MS at Wynwood is a mix of online classes and on-campus, evening classes designed to be completed in one year at a location in Miami’s famous Wynwood neighborhood. This campus location is situated near downtown Miami in the heart of hospitality, known for its unique art installations and street art, innovative events, restaurants, and clubs.  

Known as the MBA for the hospitality industry, our mixed mode method of studying means you can work and take courses at the same time towards your master’s degree, so you won’t miss out on any of the hands-on learning and experiences that hospitality is all about. Plus, international students can take advantage of off-campus employment as soon as they start their studies.

Curriculum

Known as the MBA for the hospitality industry, our Master of Science in Hospitality Management @ Wynwood is a 33-credit (11 classes), lockstep program that seamlessly combines in-person and fully online courses for more flexibility.

Classes are taken two at a time in 8-week terms for the Fall & Spring terms. Summer term will consist of 3 courses, with two 8-week terms and one 10-week practicum course (please reference the example cohort schedule). On-campus courses are located at our Wynwood Campus and will take place on weekday evenings.

  • Work Experience Requirement

    Students must complete a minimum of 500 hours of industry-related work while enrolled at FIU. An additional 300 hours and 10 weeks minimum are required to fulfill the Graduate Internship. For questions or concerns regarding requirements, please contact your Academic Advisor or Career Development Counselor.

    International students can work off-campus for 1,600 hours during the duration of their program to fulfill the work experience requirement. 

Tuition

The program tuition is $27,000.
