FIU Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management is a trusted source of industry experts, academics and thought leaders who are keeping up with industry and offering certifications in variety of different topics in hospitality and tourism education to corporate executives, managers, employees and life-long learners.

  • Professional Development: As an individual in the hospitality industry, or someone looking to cross into the hospitality industry, online self-paced courses are available to deeper your knowledge of a particular subject.
  • Corporate Training: White labeled training for a company seeking to provide experiences for their employees that will deeper their understanding of a topic while further developing their professional development. Studies indicate that training can increase retention rates.
  • Continuing Education: Classes in this category are typically taken as an individual looking to learn something new, or experience exposure to a new aspect of the industry. As a life-long learner these courses will add new skills to your toolbox of knowledge.
  • Certifications: A certificate of completion is awarded to an individual for completing the actual registered course. This is a non-credit bearing course, with no degree granted from the institution.

Courses are offered in a variety of formats

  • Online self-paced experiences
    • These courses range in 20-hour, 30-hour, or 40-hour formats that are available for a 10-week experience.
  • In-person one-day seminars
    • The in-person seminar can be hosted on campus at the beautiful Biscayne Bay branch location of FIU, the host of the Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. For a more intimate setting, courses with up to X number of attendees can be hosted in our Hospitality Management facility or for larger sessions, of X number – can be delivered at the Koven’s Center.  Alternatively, the course facilitator can travel to a location of your preference.  One-day seminars will include seven hours of engaged instructional educational experiences.
  • In-person multi-day workshops
    • Similar to the one-day seminar, workshops can span 2-day, 3-day, or 5-day experiences, both on campus and at a remote location.
