This program is designed for outstanding undergraduate students and allows students to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Hospitality Management at FIU while completing their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) degree in Supervision and Management at Miami-Dade College.
Students may take advantage of the 9-credit (3 courses) overlap in the B.A.S. and M.S. degree programs and can complete their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in as little as 4 ½ years!

Who is Eligible to Apply?
All 4+1 pathway applicants must be currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management; Hospitality Management Concentration at Miami Dade College before review of supplemental applications for the M.S. in Hospitality Management.

Admission Requirements
- 3.2 FIU GPA
- Completed at least 75 credits
- Cannot go into excess completing coursework or already be in excess (projected to be) before declaring.
- Up to 9 credits of graduate-level courses can be taken to count towards both undergraduate and graduate requirements.

How to Apply
- Students must first meet with their Academic Advisor to discuss the program and verify eligibility requirements.
(International students should inform the International Student department of their institution of their participation.) - Complete the 4+1 Online Application: go.fiu.edu/fiuhospitality4plus1.
- The $30 application fee to FIU will be paid for by the Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management for students admitted to this 4+1 program.
- Choose “pay by check” when completing the online application.
- A student admitted to the combined degree program will be considered to have undergraduate status until the student graduates from the B.A.S. program. Upon conferral of the B.A.S., the student will be granted graduate status. Complete the electronic Transient Student Application through the Florida Shines website: https://www.floridashines.org/
- Submit Official College Transcripts to FIU.

Course Availability
The 3 courses below are taught by FIU Professors and are approved to apply to the B.A.S. in Supervision and Management (Hospitality Management Concentration) at Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus AND the Masters of Science in Hospitality Management from Florida International University. Students must earn a B or better grade in order to count towards their Master’s degree at FIU.

Will I be able to access FIU’s facilities?
Students will receive a FIU OneCard that will allow them access to FIU Facilities.
What happens if I do not graduate on time?
While we hope you can graduate in the semester indicated on your application, you will need to send an email to dfoligno@fiu.edu indicating the need to postpone your application.
